Anti-bullying, difference and diversity

Incidents of racist bullying in Northumberland schools are recorded and monitored by the Cultural Diversity in Education team. The procedure for monitoring and reporting changed in September 2008. Details can be found here.
All of our work is founded on the principle that a cohesive school community is a place where any pupil can enjoy learning and acheive, and we support and contribute to the anti bullying work that takes place in our county.
Anti-Bullying week: November 17th - 21st 2008
To support the theme of being different, belonging together, the Cultural Diversity in Education team were present at Northumberland's Anti Bullying Conference at Alnwick Garden on 14th November.
The Schools Library Service has created a colection to reflect this year's theme. The list is available to download as a PDF, for schools who would like to order in the resources from the SLS, or look at examples under a range of themes.
To support the work of teachers in schools in preparing for and planning activities during this week (and beyond), we have a page of useful web links and resources.
We also have some suggestions for teachers who recognise the need to mainstream diversity in the resources they use in lessons.
